About Our Chapter

Last updated by Vicki on 7/19/2012 9:28:03 PM

For fourteen years the Heart of Peachtree chapter (HOP) of the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP) has been focused on improving the professional lives of our members. This is accomplished through regular meetings, attendance at seminars and conferences, and obtaining certifications. Involvement in IAAP at all levels helps to obtain individual and group goals.

Learn more about us by exploring this web site and please consider joining us at our next chapter meeting!

The Georgia-Pacific Corporation Chapter of Professional Secretaries International was chartered on January 18, 1994. Our first officers were: Danielle Balint, President; Monica Brooks, Vice President; Genny Wallace, Secretary and Darline Conner, Treasurer. Danielle was the catalyst that got our Chapter started. We were chartered with 77 members. Mr. Dave Reynolds, Vice President – Human Resources sponsored our chapter.

During our 17 years, we have grown as professionals and become more independent as a chapter. We now have employees of Georgia-Pacific, McDonough Bolyard Peck, and Booz Allen Hamilton as members of the Heart of Peachtree Chapter (our name was changed when our sponsorship was changed). We have been winners of Newsletter awards, distinguished president’s awards, awards for the most new CPS’s in a chapter, and awards for most new members during our IMPACT meeting, etc.

We are in a changing atmosphere now. We are adjusting to being an independent Chapter and are having some growing pains. Our officers, committee chairpersons and members are very enthusiastic. Everyone is working hard to get the word out that we are an organization to be watched and one that they will want to become a part. We have good programs that will help us to grow as professionals. We also have a little fun in the process.

We were the proud hosts of the 2006 Annual Meeting and were thrilled to support our very own Mary Stuckey CPS/CAP as she served as President of the Georgia Division of IAAP in 2006.

Our president for the 2012-2013 chapter year is Naomi Deal.

For the Members-At-Large looking for a chapter, please stop by and see what we are all about. You'll never be alone in your choice.

We hope to see you at our next meeting!!
